Southeastern is planning changes to the weekday train timetable as of 2nd June 2024. The time of the first off-peak train from Hayes to London in the morning is changing from 09.30 to 09.44. That is 14 minutes later. The first off-peak arrival at Charing Cross will be at 10.28.
This change will affect 60+ rail users and people who use contactless payments as they will not be able to travel off-peak until 09.44.
The 9.30 service from Hayes to Charing Cross is retimed to 9.29 from June in the new timetables which are available on the Southeastern and National Rail Journey planner.
Cllr Alexa Michael has called on Southeastern to allow rail passengers to travel off-peak as of 9.29. She said: “It is both illogical and unfair not to allow rail passengers to travel off-peak at 09.29 and to make them wait another 14 minutes before they can benefit from off-peak fares. I have called on Southeastern to reverse this proposal and to let passengers travel off-peak at 9.29. Hayes commuters have already lost the direct service from Hayes to Cannon Street – I don’t want to see them disadvantaged further.”
Southeastern has also swapped around services so that xx.29 and xx.59 don’t stop at Lewisham and the xx.14 and xx.44 do stop at Lewisham.
