Bromley Council passes a balanced budget.

Conservative-led Bromley Council has passed its Budget for the next municipal year.
While many Boroughs are facing bankruptcy, Bromley Council has passed a balanced Budget. It protects residents from loss of services and 15% Council Tax hikes, as seen in Croydon.

Bromley’s Council Tax continues to be one of the lowest in Greater London. It is lower than in Lib Dem-run Sutton, Labour-run Lewisham and Reform-run Kent.

In addition, the Council is investing in ‘Bromley homes for Bromley people’, with new sites for affordable housing confirmed in Beckenham, Bromley North and Orpington. The Council is investing in new leisure centres in West Wickham, as well as the Walnuts in Orpington. It is also opening a new, state-of-the-art library in Bromley town centre.

Keston will also benefit from the Council investing in improving the state of Keston Ponds by cleaning the water and enhancing its biodiversity.

Cllr Josh Coldspring-White said:
“While much of Britain is seeing its local councils going bankrupt, we are not in Bromley. We have just passed a responsible, balanced Budget that spends your money wisely.

“Bromley’s Conservative team is investing in affordable housing, new libraries, leisure centres and – in the case of Keston Ponds – work to improve biodiversity.

“In local elections in May, residents across Hayes, Coney Hall and Keston Village have a clear choice – keeping Bromley on the right path with the Conservatives, or allowing Reform UK to take Bromley down the wrong path with incompetence and chaos.”
