In the recent Local Elections, the Conservatives promised to invest £16 million over the next four years to improve the state of the Borough’s roads. This investment begins locally with the resurfacing of Westerham and Barnet Wood Roads. West Common Road was announced in the 2025-26 tranche of roads but was delayed. It will now be resurfaced in the coming months.
These roads are part of Phase 1 of roads to be resurfaced. A second phase of roads, which we know will include Mounthurst Road, will be announced shortly.
Cllr Alexa Michael said: “I am delighted to see that the pledge to invest £16 million in our roads locally is already being delivered. We are pleased to see roads that local residents rely on form part of Phase 1 of the resurfacing programme.
“We look forward to seeing Phase 2 being announced soon – and all indications are that our campaign to resurface Mounthurst Road has been successful.”
