Hayes & Coney Hall Ward Councillors

Cllrs Josh Coldspring-White and Thomas Turrell attended the latest Coney Hall Village Residents’ Association (CHVRA) meeting on Tuesday 22 October.

The CHVRA holds an annual Open Meeting in which they invite Councillors, community volunteers and other local stakeholders to speak to residents about local issues and to take questions from residents.

Thomas updated residents on the work we have been doing about the recent spates of car theft and anti-social behaviour. Measures include a potential new Police operation on car theft and our ongoing campaign to secure ticket barriers at Hayes Station. He emphasised the need for residents to inform the Police of any information about criminal incidents so they can progress as quickly as possible.

Josh updated residents on progress made on several local issues in Coney Hall. These include:

  • Meeting the Headmistress of Wickham Common Primary School to discuss potential measures to curtail speeding on Gates Green Road.
  • Securing a new hedge along Layhams Road to prevent future incidents of illegal encampments at Coney Hall Rec.
  • Our work with residents to fix any problems following the flash flooding earlier in the year.

Josh and Thomas joined residents in congratulating the Friends of Coney Hall Park on their latest fundraising efforts and the award they recently received for the work they do to keep the park thriving.

Cllrs. Josh Coldspring-White and Thomas Turrell said:

“Many thanks to Dennis Moor and the CHVRA for their kind invitation to their open meeting – it is always an enjoyable opportunity to engage with residents and answer their questions.

Your Councillors are pleased to be delivering progress on some issues in Coney Hall, whether this is trying to reduce speeding in Gates Green Road, preventing future illegal encampments on the Rec. or working with Council officers to clear any outstanding damage from flooding. We will continue to be ontheground, accessible local Councillors – working with our community to keep Coney Hall a special place to live.”
