Alexa and Josh have been working on behalf of residents in Keston Village to secure further protections against noise pollution from Biggin Hill Airport.

At the Executive, Resources and Contracts Committee on the 10th October, Alexa and Josh spoke in favour of a number of measures to further enhance measures to keep Keston Village protected from disruptive aircraft, such as:
– The expansion of the Keston NSA to better reflect the boundaries of Keston Village and protect more residents from disruptive aircraft.
– Keston having a place on the Biggin Hill Consultative Committee, where residents and the Airport work together to limit disruption.
– For the CAA to begin trials of the new R03 Approach to the Airport, and for it’s eventual implementation – meaning Keston would be absent from the flight path entirely.
Alexa and Josh later attended a meeting at the Airport with the Keston Village Residents Association (KVRA), where they received updates from the Airport and the independent SARNAB committee which investigates incursions into the Noise Sensitive Area.
Commenting, Cllrs Alexa Michael and Josh Coldspring-White said:

“Keston Village has for too long been blighted by issues of aircraft disruption, and we’re pleased to be working with residents in the village to deliver concrete, long-term solutions to this issue.

“We’re pleased to see that there are clear pathways ahead to expanding the NSA and for Keston having it’s seat at the table on the Consultative Committee – and will continue to push for the implementation of the R03 Approach as quickly as possible.

We will continue to hold the Airport to account on resident’s behalf, and work with the KVRA to make sure that Keston Village has the peace and tranquil environment it deserves.”
