Hayes & Coney Hall Ward Councillors celebrated the news that Conservative-led Bromley Council is taking action to curb speeding in hotspots in Hayes.

Following campaigning, Bromley Council recently confirmed that new Vehicle Activated Signs (VAS) will be installed in multiple locations across Hayes where speeding is prevalent.

Bourne Vale, Baston Road and Pickhurst Lane will have these signs installed in the coming months. These signs have been proven to reduce vehicle speeds by up to 70% on roads where they have been installed.

Cllr Thomas Turrell said:

“I’m delighted that, following our lobbying and campaigning alongside residents, Bromley Council will be installing VAS at Bourne Vale, Baston Road and Pickhurst Lane.

Speeding is a concern from residents across Hayes, and I’m pleased we have been able to work with Bromley Council to take the action needed to make sure our roads are as safe as possible.”
