The resurfacing of Mounthurst Road follows a long-running campaign by local Councillors in response to residents’ concerns to improve the condition of the carriageway. Barnet Wood Road and West Common Road are also to be resurfaced shortly – all following an election pledge from local Conservatives to invest £14 million in upgrading Bromley’s roads over the next four years. 

Cllr Alexa Michael said: “I have long campaigned for Mounthurst Road to be resurfaced, so I am delighted that Bromley Council have listened – and acted – for residents. The road is also on the 314 bus route, so it needs attention.

“Maintaining roads in good condition is the best way to keep traffic in Hayes, Coney Hall and Keston Village moving – and I hope to see more roads resurfaced in the coming years.”
