Hayes & Coney Hall Councillors have successfully lobbied Southeastern to revamp the frontage at Hayes Station.
The iconic signage above the station’s entrance is a local landmark, but the frontage has fallen into disrepair in recent years, with chipped paint and weeds growing above the sign. Following discussions with Southeastern, Cllrs. Coldspring-White and Michael have managed to get the station frontage on their works programme, with improvements expected later in the year.
Cllr. Josh Coldspring-White welcomed the news. He said, “The iconic signage at Hayes Station is our entrance to the world. The front of the station needs to be kept in good condition. Therefore, I’m delighted that Southeastern have agreed to give the frontage a much-needed uplift.
My colleagues and I will continue to bang the drum for investment in Hayes – and indeed across Hayes & Coney Hall Ward as a whole – so residents can have confidence that our area is the well-maintained community that they expect and deserve.”
