Hayes and Coney Hall Councillors have welcomed new proposals by Bromley Council to curb nuisance parking in Kemsing Close and Larkfield Close in Hayes.

Residents of the two cul-de-sacs wrote to Cllr. Josh Coldspring-White to voice their concerns that they were unable to park outside their own homes due to commuters taking up the spaces. The two roads are very close to Hayes Station.

Cllr. Coldspring-White wrote to Bromley Council’s Parking team who have now confirmed that both streets will be added to the Council’s list of roads for possible parking restrictions. Although this is subject to consultation, funding and approval, this step is the first indication that the Council is prepared to take action to allow residents guaranteed parking outside their homes.

Cllr. Josh Coldspring-White said:

“Residents across Hayes, Coney Hall and Keston Village should always have sufficient parking space outside their homes, especially when they live in flats where specifically designated parking spaces may not be provided.

“I’m pleased that Bromley Council has put Kemsing and Larkfield Close on their list for possible restrictions. I will continue to stand up for residents so they are able to have easy access to their homes – and benefit from less congested streets.”
