The improved signage has been installed – Hayes is one of the first stations in the country to have new ‘Great British Railways’ branding. In addition, the weeds growing out of the station frontage have been removed and the front of the station repainted. The installation of a new passenger toilet is underway.
Cllrs Josh Coldspring-White and Alexa Michael have put pressure on Southeastern to take measures to improve the state of the station. They previously secured ‘pigeon-proofing’ measures.
Cllrs Josh Coldspring-White, Alexa Michael and Diane Smith said:
“One of our aims in this new Council term is to make residents even prouder to call Hayes, Coney Hall and Keston Village home. That’s why we’re delighted that, by working with Southeastern, we’ve been able to secure these much-needed investments to make sure our station has the high standard residents expect.”
