Your Councillors welcomed new signage along Bourne Vale as work continues to curb speeding.

We are pleased to see that, after lobbying Bromley Council’s traffic officers, new signage has been placed along Bourne Vale to remind drivers to stick to the 30mph speed limit. The signs will remain in situ over the coming months, and the signage is effective at reducing speeds by an average of 2mph.

This follows the installation of a Vehicle Activated Sign along Bourne Vale earlier in the year. Taken together, these measures represent a clear plan from the Council to tackle speeding on a stretch of road that has long been a target for dangerous drivers.

Once the signs have been removed, they will be placed at other locations. These could include Bourne Way and Pickhurst Lane.

Cllr. Josh Coldspring-White said: “I am pleased to see signage installed on Bourne Vale, reminding residents to stick to the speed limit.

“Speeding is a concern of residents across Hayes, Coney Hall & Keston Village – and we have consistently tried to put in place measures to curb it, despite challenging financial circumstances for Bromley Council.

“We will continue to do all we can to tackle speeding in our community – and make it a safer place for everyone”.
