Work has begun this week by Thames Water to improve water infrastructure between Keston and Biggin Hill.
Thames Water will be working along the stretch of road between Keston Village and Biggin Hill over the next 28 months. They will work in stages on the pipework below the road so as to minimise traffic disruption.
Local Councillors are aware of the disruption this is likely to cause and are liaising regularly with Thames Water and the Council’s traffic team to highlight residents’ concerns. Nash Lane has already been recognised as a location where possible bottlenecks will appear. To avoid these, Councillors have secured additional signage to deter vehicles from using small rural roads which cannot cope with large volumes of traffic.
Cllr. Alexa Michael said:
“My colleagues and I are well aware of the disruption that will likely to be caused by the works being carried out by Thames Water over the next 28 months.
“I want to reassure residents that we will be holding Thames Water to account, and to let them know that they should contact us with any problems that may occur.”
If residents wish to contact Thames Water to enquire, complain to or even compliment them on the forthcoming major roadworks at Leaves Green Road, Keston, they should
