All Bromley Borough residents, as well as businesses and local groups, are invited to take part in Bromley Council’s latest consultation for its new Local Plan.

The Local Plan is the main planning document for the Borough and includes policies on housing, employment and the natural environment, such as the Green Belt, as well as many other areas. The purpose of the Local Plan review is to make sure that the Borough’s social, environmental and economic priorities are considered in the context of wider national and London-wide planning policy.

The Direction of Travel Consultation is the next stage in Bromley’s Local Plan review. which seeks views on the draft vision and objectives as well as the preferred policy direction for a range of Local Plan topics.

Councillor Alexa Michael, who chairs the Council’s Development Control Committee, said:

“I would like to encourage as many residents and businesses as possible to give us their views on the future of Bromley Borough. It is crucial that local priorities are reflected in the Council’s planning policy. The feedback will help to inform a Local Plan that supports our ambitions for Bromley and protects the Borough’s unique character. This includes everything from the beautiful green spaces to thriving town centres and everything in between.

“I would recommend that any resident who would like to give their views read the Direction of Travel document and supporting materials before they reply. Key documents are also available in the Borough’s libraries, and by appointment at Bromley Civic Centre. It is easiest to respond online.”

The nine-week consultation runs until Friday, 26 September 2025.
