Hayes and Coney Hall Councillors celebrated the news that double yellow lines will be extended along Layhams Road.
Residents across Coney Hall have raised their concerns about illegal parking along Layhams Road for some time. This is a serious concern, especially during weekend football matches at Coney Hall Rec.
As a result of lobbying from local Councillors, Bromley Council will be extending double yellow lines further along Layhams Road up to the junction with Albertine Grove (junction with St. Johns Church). The Borough’s Traffic Enforcement Team have also confirmed they will increase parking patrols along this stretch of road to catch drivers who are parked illegally. Residents can expect the double yellow lines to be installed in the next six to eight weeks.
Cllr. Alexa Michael said:
“I am delighted that Bromley Council will be extending the double yellow lines along Layhams Road. This should deter those who park illegally, making this stretch of road safer for all road users, including pedestrians.
“I am confident that this measure, alongside increased patrols from the Parking Enforcement Team, sends the clearest possible signal that illegal parking will not be tolerated, especially around our treasured public spaces.”
