New benches and planters installed at Chilham Way Shopping Parade

Two new benches and two planters have been installed in the Chilham Way shopping parade. These items complete the Chilham Way Improvement Project supported by your local Councillors.
The benches, planters, a new village sign, noticeboard, and trees were made possible as a result of our successful bid to Bromley Council’s Shopping Parades Improvement Fund last year. This means that Chilham Way has benefited from a £10,000 investment.

In recent years, the shopping parade has experienced a decline in foot traffic following the closure of Ajay’s Newsagents. The improvement plan, alongside the new Budgens convenience store, is helping to revive the shopping parade as a hub for the surrounding community.

Hayes & Coney Hall Councillors welcomed the new additions to the parade.

Cllr Josh Coldspring-White said: “I am delighted to see new benches and planters installed at Chilham Way shopping parade, as part of our Chilham Way Improvement Plan. These additions complete the significant investment we have secured from Bromley Council.

“It was our ambition to breathe new life into this treasured community hub. I hope that these improvements will mean the shopping parade is a vibrant area for residents to enjoy for many years to come.”
