Last year, residents wrote to tell us about anti-social behaviour occurring in the car park behind Iceland in Station Approach, Hayes. Some individuals were revving their car engines and ‘racing’ their vehicles up and down the car park very late at night. This was causing great disturbance to people living in nearby houses, including children.
Cllr Alexa Michael worked with the Council’s traffic officers and the Police to seek a solution. Unfortunately, it was not practical to lock the car park. Instead, it was agreed to install speed tables in the car park to prevent drivers from using the car park as a race track. Since they were installed, things have become much quieter.
Cllr Michael said: “The speed tables seem to have worked and the car park is now quiet late at night, which is how it should be. Of course, if any problems recur, please do not hesitate to contact me or my Ward colleagues.”
