Berkeley Homes consultation results released

Berkeley Homes has released the results of their first consultation for proposals to build homes on Hayes Farm.
The developer claims that 39% of residents support their initial proposals. 1,003 people attended their in-person consultation in November, while around 10% of residents were unaware of the plans.

Local Councillors have been clear that they oppose the measures. They have made representations to Berkeley, arguing that recent petitions on the proposals show a clear majority are against the planned development. We will continue to work with local residents and groups like Keep Bromley Green to resist the plans from coming to fruition.

In the meantime, Councillors have requested that the second consultation of more detailed proposals – expected in March – is accessible to all residents and is not online-only.

Cllr Josh Coldspring-White said:
“Berkeley’s own consultation indicates that a majority of residents disagree with proposals to build on Hayes Farm. In addition to petitions where over 2,000 residents voiced their opposition, we have made our position clear. There must be no building on our precious Green Belt.

“When the second consultation happens, we encourage as many residents as possible to take part before the planning application is submitted later in the year.”
