Layhams Road double yellow lines installed

After a long campaign by local Councillors and residents, the double-yellow lines have now been extended on Layhams Road.
The action has been taken because of concerns that the road was being clogged by cars around the bend of the road, causing congestion and the potential for accidents.

The lines have now been extended to cover the bend. Your local Councillor are aware that some residents would like to see further restrictions, so we have also requested that a feasibility study be undertaken on whether the lines could be extended further.

Cllr Alexa Michael said:
“At long last, I’m delighted to see that double yellow lines have been extended on Layhams Road. This is after our and residents’ long-running campaign to see further measures introduced.

“We hope this will go some way to stopping dangerous parking on this stretch of road – and are already working to see that the lines be extended, should the need arise.”
