Councillors welcomed a deal between Bromley Council and Galliard Homes to ensure the Churchill Theatre continues to operate.
Bromley Council has agreed an agreement with Galliard Homes to give the Churchill Theatre much-needed investment. The theatre – a much-loved cultural venue – needs investment so that the building can continue to run over the coming decades. Galliard will provide new funding to renovate the theatre. It will also take ownership of Bromley Central Library, which will open in its new location on Bromley High Street next year.
The Churchill Theatre will continue to be operated by the Trafalgar Group, a renowned theatre operator that successfully runs other locations across the country.
Cllr. Alexa Michael said: “We are delighted that the Churchill Theatre will be receiving a much-needed package of investment. This will guarantee its future for the local community – and the whole Borough – long into the future.
“Despite the scaremongering by others, Bromley’s Conservative-run Council has worked hard and delivered for residents. People in Hayes, Coney Hall & Keston Village will have a nationally-renowned theatre on their doorstep for years to come.”
