Southeastern has informed local Councillors that, in addition to work to improve the frontage at Hayes Station, improvements will be made to the station's toilet facilities.
The work comes following lobbying by local Councillors to improve the state of the station, which looks run-down. Work has already been completed on ‘pigeon-proofing’ the station’s interior with new nets to prevent nesting.
The work will be completed by April. It has been delayed from an initial completion date of late January to make accommodations for the increase in work being undertaken.
Cllr Josh Coldspring-White said:
“I’m delighted that Southeastern will be investing more money than initially planned into Hayes Station, upgrading the toilet as well as making improvements to improve the station frontage.
“Residents deserve to feel pride in our local community, and we hope these measures will improve a space so many of us use on a day-to-day basis.”
