During the summer, your local Councillors supported residents living close to the car park in Coney Hall Recreation Ground who were becoming plagued with a constant stream of learner drivers driving into and around the car park.
Residents said that at times, there were as many as seven or eight learner drivers using the car park as a practice or test location.
We are pleased to report that the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) were co-operative and have asked local driving instructors to limit their use of the park for learner drivers. The car park will be used as little as possible for driving tests.
Cllr Alexa Michael said: “I am grateful that the DVSA is taking this matter seriously. In addition, I have asked Council officers to see if there is any action the Council could take to discourage learner drivers from using this car park for practice or driving tests.”
