Cllr Alexa Michael was recently contacted by a member of the Safer Neighbourhood Team for Hayes & Coney Hall Ward who told her that a number of residents had raised the issue of children cycling in the woods by Hayes Common.
Many residents believe that the signage showing ‘No bikes’ is not appropriate and is easily missed.
Cllr Michael has taken the matter up with idverde who look after Bromley’s parks and open spaces. She has received a reply from the senior conservation ranger who said he is discussing the use of cycles at Hayes Common with Council officers so that a fair and unified approach is adopted.
