New pigeon proofing measures for Hayes Station

Southeastern Railway have agreed to new measures to 'pigeon proof' the station, following lobbying by local Councillors
The works, which will be undertaken shortly, involve the installation of netting and bird spikes, the removal of loose fouling, the installation of a new row of spikes on the front canopy of the station, and the installation of new net clips to allow access to cameras and speakers located above existing netting.

These measures will occur alongside improvements to the station frontage, again secured as a result of lobbying by Cllrs Josh Coldspring-White and Alexa Michael.

Cllr Josh Coldspring-White said: “Many local residents commute from and to Hayes Station – and the station deserves to have the investment and upkeep needed to make sure residents are proud of our area.

“Alexa and I are pleased to have worked with Southeastern to deliver these new improvements, which should ‘pigeon proof’ the station and make sure it is kept to a high standard.”
