After pressure from local Councillors, Bromley Council has agreed to undertake a study into the feasibility of parking restrictions on the junction of Bourne Vale and Mead Way. This follows continuing disruption on Bromley FC match days.
Bromley Council traffic officers will undertake a feasibility study into whether double yellow lines should be placed on the junction of Bourne Vale and Mead Way, alongside other locations locally.
There has been severe traffic congestion along Bourne Vale in recent weeks due to large volumes of parked cars on the street when Bromley FC have hosted football matches.
The Council will also consider whether to increase the times that existing restrictions on Hayes Lane operate, as an additional measure to relieve traffic congestion.
Cllr Josh Coldspring-White said: “We’re proud of the success of Bromley FC in recent months as it continues to make waves in the world of football – but this should not come with unacceptable traffic congestion and nuisance to residents.
“I want to thank residents who got in touch to help us make the case to officers that double yellow lines would be useful. We will keep residents updated.”
